Real pioneers of mid-20th century Danish design, Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen (1907-1993) had an avant-garde approach to industrialised production. Now, their work is exhibited in MoMA, in the National Gallery of Melbourne and in the Design Museum of Copenhagen.

The designer duo created the Tripod lamp in 1953. Never released until today, this is the first time that it has been produced, to the great delight of collectors and vintage design fans.

This light illustrates the minimalism which all Hvidt & Mølgaard’s creations are imbued with. The Tripod lamp is characterised by its wonderful, lightweight architectural base, sporting geometric and balanced lines. Tripod establishes a delicate balance between the austere simplicity of its design and the softness of its base’s curved lines.

The coloured metal is given its own twist with a few golden brass details which lend a sophisticated dimension to the piece.

The lampshade is fixed and cannot be adjusted.
